Boulders Conference Center wins award

Boulders Conference Center is in good company these days as it was awarded a runner – up position as “Best Small Market Venue” in Unique Venues’ annual national contest.  The winner in this category is the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL.  The second runner-up is the University Of Notre Dame.

Venues were nominated for a variety of different categories and then voted on by the readership and members.  Unique Venues is a marketing and membership organization that works to connect planners and event venues. Unique Venues represents thousands of properties around the United States and Canada. Among its offering of venues are stadiums, universities, cruise ships, reception halls, historical buildings and other facilities that have a distinctive flair.

Winter has arrived! Here's what you need to know.

Remember that your responsibility as property owners is to remove snow, ice, and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. If the snow, ice, and accumulations are not removed within a reasonable time, the City will do it and charge the property owner. The minimum fee for removal per snow event is $225, which can be assessed to the property if not paid.

Also, please do not put any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks, or driveways onto the traveled way of a street or alley. This obstructs gutters, blocks vehicles, and creates a hazardous condition. An exception is cleaning of large commercial drives in the business district where moving the snow to the street or alley is absolutely necessary. In that case, arrangements for the removing the snow must be made prior to moving the snow.

Be aware that during snow removal of the uptown business district (click on the link below for more specifics), vehciles should be removed.

Finally, do not place your recyclables at the curb during rain or snow.

If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact City Hall and they will be glad to help you.
